I was fortunate enough to be offered an interview at Ameriflight tomorrow on the 15th. The sim eval was to take place at ATP at Gateway. I never worked for ATP after I graduated but I sent Jim an email asking if I could stop by on the 14th and sit in their frasca for an hour or so to get the feel for it again. Next day D.T. from PHX calls me and says no problem, stop on by.
I know I have had some critical things to say about ATP as far as it's value on a dollar for dollar basis compared to FBOs (Can get it done cheaper) but this was really stand up behavior and they didn't have to do it, or they could have called my bluff when I offered to pay for it. Nope, 'I'll call you the day before and setup the sim schedule'.

A family member needs me to stay in TX so I am forced to miss the AMF interview this time around but I wanted to mention how cool of it of ATP to remember some guy who went through the program years ago.

Spira,

It takes some honesty and integrity to admit that they did a good thing for you when you've not been a fan of them before.

Bravo on this post, sir.

Seriously? Dude, they ripped you off by a couple of thousand dollars. Of course you can use their 500000 dollar frasca...

That was very professional and courteous of them to make you the offer. I met some of the folks from ATP when I was there the other day for my AMF interview, and they all seemed like good people.

Those new Frasca sims are nice too (though a lil less fun when you only get the single 430 and you can't use any of the GPS functions- gotta love multiple approaches and DME based holds with one nav)!
