Teterboro to NYC

Hello all, I am flying into Teterboro for the first time in a few weeks. When I get there, I will have a day to myself, and would like to go to yankee stadium for a game.

Can any of you tell me the best way to get from the airport to yankee stadium, inexpensively (ie: what trains and buses to use)

I tried searching for hours, but not exactly sure what to use still. Thanks.

Its realtivly close to Yankee stadium, probably about 30 mins I would guess. I have a friend who works at Dassault there, Ill try to ask, I think I lost his info though:(

have fun in KTEB!!!

Not sure which busses, trains to use for Yankee stadium, but just ask at the hotel you're staying in (Hilton, Holiday Inn, whatever...I'm assuming Hasbrouck Heights?). They'll be able to tell you the easiest way. They should be able to take you to the bus station, then hop on the train from there. It's actually a fairly easy trip into NY from there, just have to know how to work the system.

Have fun in NY. Welcome to Teterhole (no, I'm not there now, but been there more than I ever wanted to be):)

When I was last there, the hotel we were at dropped us off at a bus stop, and we took a bus over to the city for next to nothing ($$). When we were ready, we took a bus back to Jersey, and the hotel picked us up at the stop a few miles away. Can't remember any details really, but wherever you are staying will surely know the easiest way to get over there. I'd definitely plan on the bus though, cabs over to the city are pretty pricey- learned that one the hard way.

Bus Route 161. It'll pick you up at the corner of industrial ave and rt. 46 (on the west side of the airport, if you fly into most of the FBO's; I suggest millionaire for GA) or Fred Wehran Dr. and Rt. 46 on the east side of the airport (if you go into signature)*. According to the Bus Schedule, it picks you at the corner of industrial rd. and rt. 46, which if you fly into millionaire you just walk straight north to Rt. 46 and there is a bus overhang thing there. This bus takes you to the New York City Port Authority Bus terminal. From there you can go anywhere.

The bus fare was $2.80, all cash when I was there 2.5 years ago. Judging by the fares, it looks like it went up. I'd carry a bunch of loose cash and change with you, as you need exact fares.

*This stop isn't listed on the 161 route, but it was there (as well as being at industrial) when I was there last. Probably won't be an issue because I WOULD NEVER GO TO SIGNATURE IF I WERE YOU!!

I worked out of Teterboro at a place called Air Fleet, they've now since moved to Caldwell. Crazy airport to solo people out of!!!

About Dassault, they are taking over the entire east end of the airport! One of the reasons Air Fleet moved...

you can take the NJtransit train from teterboro station to secaucus, where you can transfer to the NY-penn station bound trains. from penn station you have 2 options. 1) take the E train uptown to Lexington ave./53rd street. transfer to the 4 or 6 trains uptown to 161st street/Yankee stadium. 2) walk from penn station to grand central if the weather is nice (15 minute walk) and take the 4 or 6 train from there. both routes will be cheap but might take some time. getting into the bronx on a bus can be a disaster too.

go yanks.

Thanks for the tips so far! Now this part is fuzzy, where is the New York City Port Authority Bus terminal exactly located, like on what street/intersection. This way I could try to look up what bus/subway to take to get to yankee stadium. Thanks!

The Bus terminal is located in the heart of Manhattan, one block west of Times Square. It occupies the blocks between Eighth and Ninth Avenues and 40th and 42nd Streets.

EDIT:

http://www.panynj.gov/CommutingTravel/bus/html/tofro.html

There's the info on the terminal.

Subways that connect to it:
Direct underground passageways connect the terminal with the A, C, E, N, R, S, 1, 2, 3, 7 and 9 trains. For more information about the subway routes, please visit the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).

EDIT #2:

Here's a map I found that should help you determine which lines you need to take:

Yankee Stadium is toward the top of the map.
