Testing...1,2,3....HIRED!!!!!

Stan,

Congratulations! How'd you like the Saab? Was the interview pretty much what you were expecting?

I was going to email you, but I was travelling yesterday and had my first day of IOE today...wow. Anyway, keep me updated on where they put you, etc--enjoy Dallas, and relax the first week.

-Zach

Zach: The Saab sim was a freakin' BLAST!!!!

Our instructor told us "not only have do I not recall 5 guys all passing at the same time....I've never seen five recruits fly the sim so incredibly well!"

Grats on IOE! Looking forward to meeting you in the pilots lounge. :D

hope you get the 20th class. I am also in it. i interviewed back in dec. but had trouble with the medical. just glad its all done with can't wait til the 20th.

JT - Thanks man!!! Looks like I'll may not be seeing "The Rock". They informed us that if there are any openings for the ATR in SJU, the young bucks tend to get that base. Us old geezers have seniority in our class and get to pick the plane/base of our choosing (that are open at the time).....but then again... that's what I've been told so far... and being a new hire... I just started drinkin' from the Koolaid.. and as happy as a pig in poop to do so. (BTW..thanks for the Jepp plates you gave me a couple of years ago. They came in VERY handy in my interview prep!!! If it weren't for JT folks, I might not have this job... in a round about way.)

The old "you may be senior enough to go <put in your base of choice here> trick? They still doing that?

Stan, up until my last day of sim training it was "you may be going directly to Miami, things are moving so fast!"

I get to the rock and find out that they are moving 5 a month and there are 63 FOs in front of me wanting to go to Miami.

Our instructor told us "not only have do I not recall 5 guys all passing at the same time....I've never seen five recruits fly the sim so incredibly well!"

Still doing that trick too??? All six of us were told "Wow you guys are hot sim pilots - never saw a whole group do that well!" and I found out they tell every interview class that LOL :)

Don't let me burst the bubble Stan, you are going to have a blast during training and even if you go to the Rock, you'll love the flying. The caribbean is beautiful, and so are the girls.

JT.. I'll make a bet with you here in "public". I get "The Rock" and I buy you a steak dinner anywhere of your choosing.

I don't - and American Eagle is being straight up with us (based on what the last four classes have posted and what I've read on Eaglelounge...I'm pretty sure they are).... and, believe me..... dinner ain't gonna be cheap.

;)

You may be right. You were there a long time ago in a land far far away.... I wasn't...., but I'm just sayin'.....

Funny....yet in the past two weeks at least two out of every class failed the sim. Fact from the interviewees we met... not A.E. folks. Odd how they just accepted folks in your era... and ya'll are still bitter. Hmm. ;) :D

No bubbles burst here, bro. :bandit:

Hey, congrats. It's a challenging interview process and you should be proud. Use eaglelounge to ask as many questions as possible. There are a few angry/bitter/smartass types, but for the most part everyone's pretty cool.

Good luck and seeya in Dallas!

Stan I will buy you dinner anyway - you are about to learn how to live on starvation wages my brother! ha ha ha ha :)

Anyway - the ATR was the coolest thing in wings when I was at Eagle. It's still pretty hi-tech. You'll learn A TON!

CONGRATS Stan!!:nana2: That's awesome!

Let me know if you make the Feb 20th class...I'll be in Dallas the week before.

I *really* doubt Stan will be joining me in San Juan. The oldest person I know of to come down here recently was 29, and that was in an unusual class where 6 of 9 went to the ATR. Most classes recently have had fewer than half going to San Juan. Stan, if you end up down here, I'll buy you a nice big plate of rice and beans.

But hey, this is probably the best flying in the system.

I can't believe I'm just now seeing this.

I hope you get to go to Chicago, my old stomping grounds :) I don't miss all the B.S. that the company dished out, but there are times I miss the people I used to work with very, very much. They were/are good people to fly with. Those were 6 of the poorest, yet happiest years of my life. AA was great, but Eagle will always have a special place in my heart.

Congrats, Stan!

Gee, I still remember when you were a young padawan!

Congrads Stan....:)

Have you taken the astronaut physical yet?
Yup. Did that whole thing on Thursday. Started at 7:30 a.m. - ended at 2:00 p.m. with ver little waiting around time.

Not all. Skyway didn't have one and 'ehh ehh ehh' had a pretty tame one.
