Heh. For me, I wanted to do En Route over Terminal because of the training. Tons of new hires were being sent directly to level 10-12 facilities, and washout rates at several were getting into 70-80%. Everybody thinks they'll be one of the few that can handle training at a place like DFW or O'Hare off the bat and stay sane/stay married/not quit, but high-level facilities weren't (and still aren't) equipped to train brand new developmentals.
Centers, on the other hand, have large, established training programs. I put down that I'd work at either, but was hoping for a Center in order to get a good training base before shooting for a higher level terminal environment. Which was what I got, so, hooray.
That's not to say all terminal new hires get sent to big places and burn out, of course... it's just that the ones that do, often will.
