tecnam lands gear up at kfmy

It didnt fail, they were doing touch and goes. Talked to someone who was in the pattern and no emergency was declared. Sucks

Someone once described a 709 ride to me as "It's when a pilot screws up so bad, that even the FAA can't ignore it."

I'll take 709 ride for $1,000, Alex.

On the flip side though, I've seen the FAA go nuts about the dumbest little things also. Not saying this wouldn't warrant a 709 ride though!

I feel like its because there are so many people who are not aware of the Rotax engines and the difference between a 2 stroke Rotax and a 4 stroke Rotax.

Ahh its got a Rotax engine... thanks

Same designer, IIRC. They (Tecnam) is working on a larger version too, with Cape Air helping in the design.

Tecnam was founded by Partenavia/Vulcanair, the Pascale family has been making planes since the `50s they founded both, first Partenavia/Vulcanair then Tecnam.

Lugi the guy that designed the P2006 and the P68, is almost 90 years old, but still works and teaches at the University.

Italy has some of the most amazing airplane designers in the world, it`s also the only country I know of that has an high school cv for aspiring aeronautical engineers.
