First SOLO went well, She did three nice landings and confessed to cry and laugh first lap around!! She completed her second solo in the pattern today, next up we review all manuavers then she practices a few hours and on to cross countries !

You could always teach the Navy method.... just fly / sink until you hit something solid

Slow flight down the runway as close as you can get to it without touching. Tell them this is the attitude they should be in when they touch down.

If by that you mean being perfectly on-speed, and flying your tailhook point through a 1 ft piece of sky adjacent to a moving unlit flight deck on a black night, then yes, you are correct
