TBM 850 Contract Pilot

Hello All,

I am looking for a TBM 850 pilot located in South Carolina or North Georgia that could work on a contract basis for a very fair day rate. Trips are normally up and down the east cost 1-2 days a week with the occasion trip to the midwest. The insurance minimums would be 1000 turbine and 200 in type and we prefer CFI/II. The owner is willing to pay a 6 month retainer and put the right pilot through recurrent for the right candidate.

Please PM with an email address and your times. Thanks

200 in type is gonna be a hard qual to meet for that aircraft. Especially the 850. There is probably less than 50 commercial pilots in the whole country with TBM 850 time that are not the owner's of the aircraft who would be looking for this kind of work. You may have to pony up the extra $'s for a higher ins. premium until you can get someone you hire enough time in type. A lot of TBM owners who have a hired pilot have to do this. The aircraft just isn't popular enough for commercial use for there to be that big a pool of experienced pilots out there. One suggestion that worked for my friend who flys and manages a TBM7 for a small company is to see if your insurance would accept 700 time or high Pilatus time as a time in type substitute. Though the Pilatapus and the TBM are two different aircraft there are enough similarities for an insurance company to give credit to and there are a lot of high time Pilatus pilots out there..

I got 60 hrs in a 700, the TBM is a great airplane...Good luck!

Thanks for the response right seat girl. We have talked with the insurance company and they are willing to take time in other single engine turboprops with TBM 850 SIM training.
