Perhaps it's her way of getting back at him for his demeaning remark! I don't agree to either one's remark-As a CEO she should have shown some professionalism on her response. As for the Security guy, he sounds like he is a few centuries back in his timeline!

Are you kidding me? There aren't many women who are CEOs, let alone in such a male dominated industry as aviation. That'd be like me going up to a white rapper and being like "No, what do you REALLY do" or a black hockey player. There just aren't a lot, so the natural inclination is to question them when they say it, just because it sounds outlandish.

At least, that's how I perceived it. Just another quoting out of context, IMO.
 
Aye yi yi. I guess we'd better have 5'2 Hmongs performing TSA screening so we don't frighten Qantas execs...

Every freaking Thanksgiving and Christmas, man.

Local news reporter goes to local airport and says "and the lines are long here at the airport."

Then they cut to a guy who's been waiting in line, and they ask him about it.

"Well, it's an inconvenience, but if it makes us safer, I'm all for it."

How come they never interview me?

"This charade is stupid. You think the terrorists aren't laughing their asses off at us wasting all our time here, fighting the last war? They're busy taking away my nail clippers instead of looking for real security risks. I'm mad as hell they're not focusing on the real problem and even more mad my tax dollars are being wasted confiscating nail clippers. Oh, and by the way, you do this same freaking story every single year. Can't you guys use some creativity? Isn't there an ambulance to chase somewhere?"

They probably do get people like you, except we probably never see the interview. They might keep trying and trying until they get the response they want.
 
I flew commercial today for the first time in a long while. I got to use my "Fly Clear" id for the first time.

It gets me to the head of the line, and it pretty much guarantees I will not be a "Selectee" again, so I think it's worth it.

Oh and it's ok if I talk about this, because I don't work for an airline anymore!!!
 
Why do you think they call TSA guys Burger King rejects, when a fake bomb planted by their own bosses traveled from EWR to AMS then you can understand how safe we are when the person behind the monitor of the Xray machine is chewing gum and talking to other people around him/her.
And her black guy comment was a way to get back not something racist.
 
Not true Mike! I was doing a depot run a while back that required flying to Kelly to drop the jet off then flying commercial from San Antonio to Wichita through either Dallas (or Houston, can't remember exactly) to pick up a different jet. Not only did we have all the proper paperwork and orders we were all still in bags and yet all three of us got the "red carpet treatment" at San Antonio and the AGAIN in Dallas (or Houston)!!!
