Take off Clearance Question

b. The tower controller will consider that pilots of turbine-powered aircraft are ready for takeoff when they reach the runway or warm-up block unless advised otherwise.

If it is not too much trouble would you mind posting the full source for that (book, chapter, paragraph etc.). I'm not sure if you pasted that from the AIM or the 7110. I'd like to print out the full page including that excerpt. Thanks!

Nick - it's in AIM 4-3-15

Edit - my bad, it's in 15, although it kind of revolves around delays.

NOTE-
Turbine-powered aircraft may be considered ready for takeoff when they reach the runway unless they advise otherwise.

on a related note, a pet peeve.

When you are NOT number 1 in line you are NOT ready to go, there is an airplane in front of you. Please stop stepping on my calls when I really am ready to go.

"Tower, Katana ...........................................1234, holding short ready to depart, I'm a ................................................................south....... bound departure, and I have information......................................................................................Tango."

/pet peeve

I hate that, too! So annoying... Our tower handles it pretty well.

"Tower, Dbag 1234, in sequence, #4, ready for depature"
"Ok"

Yeah, I have had controllers say that people calling in sequence is like standing in line at the grocery store.

You dont tell the cashier, "hey I am number 4, ready to pay!"

Pet peeve of mine-121 guys saying their ready in sequence. Hey, guess what, no one cares. If your in line youre not going anywhere and by the time youre numba won you should be ready.

What a coincidence. My pet peeve is sitting at the end of a runway burning 4000 lbs/hour of jet fuel at a major international airport waiting for an Archer to turn a five mile final and then make a normal decent to landing (*and then roll out to the end because that's where the FBO is) because the controller seems to have forgotten that we could be climbing through 10,000' by the time the guy touches down if he'd just clear us to go.

What does that have to do with waiting in line and clogging the radio with useless chatter? On the other hand, having to pay for fuel must be expensive!!!
