I want you to remember back to when the last time you saw a policemen or firefighter die. What did you see? Policeman, upon policeman, firefighter, upon firefighter there, at the funeral, in full uniform, in full support of their fellow colleague. No I am not saying we should be there at every funeral, what I am saying is do you notice how they portray themselves?

Always in full uniform, always in solidarity. There is a line in the sand with them. No one dare crosses that line. What do these two things do for their profession, and what can we learn from it?

I'm all about the whole pilot unity thing but this comparison is pretty silly.

I wish the airline's were government jobs. That would be the day.

It's a respect thing. Last week one of my co-workers passed away suddenly. Billy was a "great" man and was loved thoughout our system. The union got with the company and it was worked out that who ever wanted to go to the funeral was able to get off their run (and be pay protected). Everybody went in FULL UNIFORM and it was a proud moment when the for us when "39801" the bus that Billy went out the North Dakota to pickup 11 years ago was allowed to be in his funeral procession. His family was blown away at just how much we cared and even though it was a tragic loss for them they know how much their loved one meant to us.

That one thing I love about working where I work now....no matter your race,background,education,political idology, when your a Bonanza driver,you are one of us and we take care of one another. That in of itself is why I will have a hard time leaving this place in a couple years.
