Tailwheel flying around the beach in SoCal!

Just recently got my tailwheel endorsement through Sunrise Aviation at SNA in a Citabria! Sunrise does a great job training and I have really enjoyed myself. I feel like more of a real pilot in a tailwheel! It was definitely nice to get into something other than a Cessna for once. The weather was nice the other day so my Fiance/Copilot/Official Photographer and I decided to take a short little beach tour around south orange county. We took off from SNA, flew along the coast by Laguna Beach, down to Dana Pt. and San Celemente, then inland towards the old El Toro airbase and over UCI on our way back to SNA. It was a great little flight and Nadia, my fiance, got some beautiful pictures of the scenery! This weather and scenery is just about all that I will miss when we pack up and move to Houston in a month :)

Living in Southern California is like dating a beautiful girl...
That has a headache every day.
Nice Pics... looks like fun!!

Great pictures! Looks like a great place for flying. I plan on getting my tail wheel as soon as I get my private.

Those are some great photos!

Would anyone want to live in any of the houses near the water on the seventh photo?

In California a lot of people would pay good money for their own private sheer cliffs. One good earthquake and they have their own private island floating in the Pacific!

I prefer a backyard :)

I got my private in a '65 7ECA. No matter what else I fly, I always seem to be yearning for the Citabria. Great plane! Do any aerobatics with it?

Havent done any aerobatics as a pilot, but my buddy is an aerobatic pilot and he took me up in a Decathalon. It was an amazing ride! Only made it through 4 maneuvers before I vomited though :) Ill have to build up my tolerances before I start aerobatics myself!

Haha! Yeah, I'm not really into it either. Haven't puked, but it's not my idea of fun. Although I don't mind spins and the Citabria spins like a champ! (no pun intended)!
