It depends. The definition of tachycardia is a heart rate of >100 beats per minute. I really can't answer without more information and knowing what type of tachycardia it is.
Sorry for the lack of detail . From what he told me, he (thinks he) notices a heart rate increase at some parts of the day. He didn't get very detailed with me either but it was things like after eating or after a random event, he would have an elevated heart rate for a while after. I googled, it and sorry for being so clueless about it, but I think "sinus tachycardia" fits best what he said.
I might make no sense with this assumption, but I hope this gives better detail for an answer.
