is it possible in any way to get a ride in a T-6 texan i live in aus and i would love to ride if its possible for a civilian to go up with an instructor or something.

PS a T-38 would be even better

Back in the day it would have been very possible. Now, most likely impossible, especially for a civilian. Shoot it is hard enough for me to get a ride on other platforms, and I'm on flight orders to begin with. You might get lucky somewhere. Good luck

well i asked the guys at KAUS and they said they couldnt but im wondering maybe if i asked someone higher up in the chain of command they could arrange a special demo or something, how much stuff coudl a 14 year old do?

What do you mean by "stuff"?

A 14 year old (or his parents) could sue the piss out of the government if the pilot had to eject and you get a spinal injury

Is it true that in your whole life you can only eject like 2-3 times before you can't fly anymore?

Depends on how old you are. If you're under 18, join Civil Air Patrol and sign up for the Air Education and Training Command Familiarization Course--it's a summer activity that's basically a weeklong survey of USAF pilot training. The honor graduates usually get a ride in T-1s or T-37s, in addition to sim rides that everyone usually gets. The activity is held at Columbus and Laughlin AFBs, neither of which have T-6s yet.

Here's the web page for AETCFC/Columbus:

I'm confused. Are we talking the North American T-6 Texan here or the Ratheyon T-6A Texan II? (an act of blasphemy to use that name, IMO)
