Position Summary:
Day-to-day point person for Frontier system-wide operations; responsible for administration of safe, efficient, on-time and FAR compliant operations, including domestic, international and charter flights. SOC Shift Manager allocates and leads resources on a daily shift basis in order to provide a safe, compliant, efficient and reliable operation.

Essential Functions:
  • Ensure that all Frontier flight operations are conducted in a safe manner, compliant with all applicable FARs, contractual obligations and company procedures.
  • Coordinate, implement and monitor all flight and operational activity, including the safe movement of 50+ Airbus aircraft fleet across 75+ station network.
  • Serve as the primary point of communication for all on-going airline/system issues and disruptions, communicating with all necessary operational departments any irregularities, situations, operations disruptions, cancellations, extended delays or other impact issues.
  • Monitor and review weather conditions (both current and forecasted) across the Frontier network, identifying potential issues and flight safety concerns. Coordinate with, communicate and participate in all Air Traffic Control directed activities.
  • Supervise dispatchers in performance of their duties, including FAR regulated activities and the administration of the (TWU) labor agreement.
  • Provide guidance to dispatchers regarding current dispatch and technical policies.
  • Coordinate and communicate all operational needs, requirements and plans with various operational departments, including but not limited to maintenance control and planning, customer service (hub and stations), crew scheduling, flight operation, and in-flight service.
  • Manage both current and advance aircraft routings in coordination with maintenance planning and other system needs, maximizing utilization of Frontier’s fleet.
  • Ensures and updates status of all Frontier flights in Flight Control system, assuring the correct information being available via FLIFO in the Frontier computer reservation system.
  • Integrate the needs and customer handling requirements during irregular operations with the System Customer Service Managers, working to minimize customer impact to the best extent possible.
  • Initial point of contact and communication in the event of a required emergency response.
  • Provide effective team leadership within the SOC in order to attain all Frontier corporate goals and objectives.
  • Assist in the recruiting process of SOC personnel as required.
  • Coordinate flight activity with code-share and regional partners.
  • Moderates bi-daily briefings with key operational information. Provides summaries and updates throughout the day on the status of the overall operation.
  • Aid and recommend in the discipline and termination process as required. Provide assistance and recommendations for the coaching, counseling and discipline of SOC and Dispatch personnel.
  • Commit and control carrier funds, including immediately available forms of corporate payment as needed during operations, including charter and ad-hoc operations.
  • Assist in the recruiting process and hiring of SOC personnel as required.
  • The Frontier SOC Shift Manager not only manages all facets of the Frontier day-to-day operation, but also supervises the Dispatchers in the performance of their duties, including; FAR regulated activities, administration of the (TWU) labor agreement and safe, overall on-time operations.
