Switching Meds

I have ulcerative colitis and currently have an SI for remicade. My gastrointenstinologist wants to switch me to Humira. After I notify FAA, will I be grounded for a certain amount of time? If so, how long?

@floridaflyer2019: I would reach out to ALPA Aeromedical, or some organization like it (not AOPA, they don't have MDs on staff). If you are at an ALPA carrier, ALPA aeromedical is free. If not, they charge a small fee ($75 if memory serves). Message boards for questions that specific don't always lead to the best results.

Best of luck.

Why not just call your AME?

“Self-certified after prescription change, in accordance with information obtained from people with unknown qualifications on the internet.”

Bonjour.
