A planned and controlled explosion is scheduled for 25 mar
between 0930-1200 edt on the potomac river near key bridge
the purpose of filming a tv series. A 20 to 30 ft fireball
last for approx 2 min.

Well, that's nice.

You can't load up your Cessna and go flying within 30 miles of there but they let Hollywood blow stuff up right in the middle of the ADIZ.

The funny thing is that I'm not even that into it myself, but when the door is open... :)

Tell me about it. I've been on a huge "that's what she said" kick over the last 6 months (thanks The Office) and am pretty much over it, but when someone tosses up a softball I have to go for it.

Crap man, I don't know how many times I've gotten a call from HR in the past 12-months about those.

Funny story, I was in this stats class in graduate school - ph.d. level course with a lot of uber studious, type A folks in there. The professor was talking about a specific stats application called the Cox Proportional Hazards Model (as fun as it sounds). One of our female professors was particularly adept at this model, which led him at one point to exclaim "yeah, Jan loves the Cox".

Cracking up in hysterics in an otherwise silent room didn't help my progression in the program. :)

Yeah, isn't that great?

It's not an ADIZ anymore, it's now a special flight rules area.
NEW LOOK - SAME CRAP TASTE!!!
That is to say...new name, same pointless intention.

At first I was going to say that the NOTAM almost makes me miss home. Then I remembered the ADIZ/SFRA was a continuous irritation to my entire PPL training, so I quickly got over it.
