SWA CEO Defines Irony (gleaned from necroposted thread)

Bigey you missed the, "Then came 1991" part, which was an implication that in 1991, they furloughed, after Delta had never furloughed in 60 years, which is twice as long as SWA has been around.

Get it?

No no, Bigey's right here. What you and Doug missed in Bigey's post was this:

...for the 30 something years they've been around is they havent furloughed pilots for their life...
--which makes it clear he's talking about SWA, not DL. :sitaware: suckas! ;)

I'm just saying that one should be exceptionally careful with using words like "never" in the airline business. There are none, and will never be absolutes in this business.
That's some funny stuff right there.

:)

I've got nothing bad to say about SWA, how they treat their employees and how they've operated.

But, SWA flies to, what, 26 cities in the continental U.S.? I think 19 entire states aren't served by SWA. So, they're great at what they do, but you can't get everywhere you may need to on SWA.

When the founder of the company himself dismisses the "be like Southwest" talk by saying they are not capable of providing the air transport system the United States needs, I think that says it all.

Since we're on a "two's" run:

1. Never tell everything you know."

Beware the opinion of someone who bags on one of the best pilot jobs in the business. He may just not want competition!

Hey that's a great idea!

Yeah! Southwest sucks! Don't work there, it's terrible, for a numbner of reasons I havent made up yet! Whatever you do, don't apply , or odds are you hate babies and puppies and worship Satan!

Wait a minute, I thought that Mesa and GoJets were the Wal-Marts of the industry. Now I'm really confused.
