Imagine all that from improperly etching info on the fan blade. Am I the only one that read that whole thing?

Nope, though I think it was the hub not blades that had the issue with etching.

Looks like it's been confirmed as loss of one fan blade.

Not sure if joking, but from what I read (avweb, didn't have a link to official NTSB) part of the blade stayed with the fan hub and they've got leads as to the cause from that.

It's not unheard of to use speed tape for a temporary repair(CL-604 can be dispatched with a shattered windshield if it's taped over and documented) or applied over sealant that hasn't cured as long as you have some sort of documentation to reference. The thing that bothers me more about the above photos is that mechanic apparently thinks it's okay to use the inlet as a trash can.
