SWA Assistant Dispatcher Posting

Good luck to everyone.

As I recall last time, all 9 positions went internal even though it was posted externally also. So for external candidates, I'm guessing you'll have a better chance this time around, considering they are looking to fill 18 slots, so pay attention to the automated responses and follow the directions precisely. Keep in mind there's quite a few employees in the NOC who work in other departments such as csc, flifo, and crew scheduling who have their adx, just waiting their turn to move over to dispatch.

Motoboy, Thanks for that! Very sound advice.
I would happily backfill any of those positions you listed should they take the internal guys!!! As Im sure many others on this forum would as well. I even applied for a couple of the ground slots here at OAK. I'm crazy for WN...!
18 slots huh,...that's great. I9 has always been my lucky number!! :sarcasm::D

I can't tell you what to do, but I can tell you what I did, since I'm in the same boat (or should that be an airplane? )
The poor woman is probably being bombarded, and I certainly don't want to be an added pest. On the other hand, I can't let it stand and possibly miss the opportunity to compete.
I sent an email asking for clarification.

I agree that they're pretty busy. I just want know. I'll wait.....I'm off till Monday so f it.

I just applied but answered "no" to the one year working experience for 121 airline or 135 aviation company. How fast were people getting offers to test? What kind of test? Green book? Sorry, I actually did skim most of this thread but missed that kind of info or it wasn't there.

I agree. I just want to hear a conformation to be sure.

My buddy told me he got an email saying the testing dates he was given are no longer good and the tests will be re-scheduled.

Jenkins, sir, so do you mean nav charts like the ones nobody carries anymore?? Are you guys all EFB'd ?

Also, on a older thread someone posted some WN gouge and they wrote that on the test there was this metar symbol: BINOVC and they didn't know what it was. Is that a typo or am I still a greenhorn? Cuz I looked H and L and could not find the BIN portion...
Anybody care to explain?

An example hot off the presses!

Just curious has anyone gotten
any further emails regarding testing or what happened when
they tried change their answer to no regarding testing in last 12 months

Thank you sir!....Im a believer. I have many FAA and NOAA and AWS lists and 3 different books including FAA, Jepp and some other guy....
But I cannot for the life of me find any reference to "BIN".... lots of other goodies I have not seen...but I still haven't seen it in the training docs.

I don't think you can "change your answer" to a question once you submit the app.... that would really be a SWA policy question that I'm not able to answer.. but generally speaking... no.

So I re-re-reapplied with a different e-mail address like it was suggested. I have not heard anything.
