i have had about 8 different operations in the past 5 years. i had three reconstructions on my left shoulder, two on my right hand, one on my left thumb, and now it looks like i will be heading to surgery on thurs for a broken foot. will i ever pass a flight physical? if i do could i ever get a first class med? i have rehabed all of the injuries and i am able to do all tasks that i was able to do before i was injured. thank you for all of your responses.

If you have the necessary range of motion and the orthopedic surgeon releases you ther should be no problem with the medical.

Sorry about the surgery:( and good:) luck with the flying

funny you say that. i have a plate on my shoulder blade and a screw there as well. i have a metal rod in my right hand and now i get a clamp and a screw in my foot. i go off every single time. i get the wand and the can we see the scar talk. i dont get mad anymore. thank you for all of your responses.

no actually i have a bone clamp put in and a screw right down the middle. they said it should take about 2 hours to complete and that i will not be able to walk the same way until christmas. sucks that it takes this long to recover but i guess not much blood gets to that area. anyways thanks for the responses.

:) thank you but it really isnt that bad. i broke it over the weekend in my game and its the end of a career. i think my mom freaked out more than i did. she came out from los angeles to see my play and she ended up taking me to the hospital. thank you for the kind thoughts and i will keep all posted.

Damn that sucks. I know what it is like to walk away from a sport you love. It'll get better though. Good luck and hopefully, you have a speedy recovery. Just remember chicks dig casts and scars.

If you don't mind me asking, how did it happend? Hopefully, it wasn't a cheap shot.

thanks. it was the worst break i have ever had. we were on goalline and i had to reach a guy in a one technique. i got to his outside and as i started to drive him my foot got stuck in the turf. another players foot had pushed off my foot and since my foot had no where to go it snapped cracked and popped. i saw three doctors and they all said no more football and that i need to get a bone clamp and a screw in my foot. so early this morning i had it done and wow does it hurt. i agree with you it is a hard thing to walk away from but i had a good run. i would def go through all the pain and hell all over agian in a heartbeat.

i have a pretty nasty scar on the side of my foot. i think when i die im going to be smelted instead of cremated. thanks for looking out and i will let you know how the recovery comes.

Same here man. I would kill to play competively again. Good joke about getting smelted I LMAO. You definately won't be the favorite FO in the company since you will hold the crew line up. LOL JK.

So with at that metal in you can you get MRI's? Let us all now how the recovery goes. If you really wan't to stay in FB there is always coaching. I've always wanted to coach but my schedule just doesn't allow it.

i already get stopped. i have a huge license plate in my shoulder and that gives the tsa a chance to get their wands out and do some searching.

mri's hahaha you make me laugh. i have to do stand up mri's and get in funky positions.

coaching is not going to happen. if and when i have children i will help them out but i will never coach. that is too much stress and crap you have to deal with.

Yeah, I guess watching films to 3am has to wear on one a bit during the season.
