The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the managers individual performance, and available funding.<br><p>This position is located in the Policy Processing Team (AJV-Pl3), under the Policy Support Group (AJV-P), within the Policy Directorate (AJV-P), in Mission Support Ser.</p> <div> <strong>Duties</strong> Help </div> <p> <p>The Supervisory Air Traffic Control Specialist serves as the Policy Processing Team Manager, performing a mixture of routine and complex projects/programs based on the objectives of the AJV/ATO. The Team Manager provides management and oversight for air traffic standards and procedures issues for service area/centers and field facilities, Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCCs), Terminal Radar Approach Controls (TRACONs), and towers.</p><p>Applies an advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed. Has knowledge of safety regulations and policy development regarding the safe control of air traffic. Oversees the analysis, development, review, and coordination of procedures, operational needs and requirements, and planning from an ATC operational policy and management perspective. Provides management and oversight of the collaboration with other FAA lines of business and industry. Performs managerial duties, which typically affect employees and managers in more than one organizational unit/project/program, and include: planning; communicating the organizations vision and objectives; setting priorities; assigning tasks and responsibilities; monitoring and evaluating performance; coaching and developing employee capabilities; approving leave; and taking, recommending or approving corrective/disciplinary actions as appropriate.</p><p>Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and documenting the development and implementation of new or revised air traffic procedures for various air traffic directives and publications. Serves as the primary point of contact for offices of primary responsibility (OPRs) and other entities looking to make changes to directives and publications that fall within the purview of FAA Order JO 7000.5, Appendix A. Provides management and oversight for the Policy Processing Team, ensuring timely research, development, tracking, coordination, and publishing and distribution of procedures and associated documents supporting the delivery of air traffic services. Works with service providers to develop, coordinate and distribute document change proposals (DCPs), notices, general notices (GENOTs), interpretations, waivers, orders, or other requests that would establish or change an air traffic control procedure, policy, or guidance contained in an air<br>traffic control directive or publication.</p><p>Uses advanced knowledge of budget, human resource, and other administrative policies and procedures. Provides oversight to the directorate&rsquo;s Business Plan to ensure milestones and goals be on target. Performs critical aspects of the budget planning process, including projecting short-term and long-term future needs and justifying resource requirements. Defines, plans, and organizes assigned budget, staff, and other resources to accomplish objectives for more than one organizational unit/project/program. Projects short and long-term future needs and prepares justifications to support resource requirements. Manages budget and either reallocates resources among organizational units/ projects/programs or requests additional resources, as needed. </p><p>Contacts are primarily within the organizational unit, AJV and the ATO, as well as with subordinates, peers, and higher-level management to discuss the statuses and results of projects/programs and plan for the future. In some areas, may have frequent contact with customers, other government entities, aviation industry and other FAA organizations to interpret policies/procedures or for other project/program purposes related to air traffic services. Has authority to make commitments for subordinate organizational units, within guidelines. </p> </p>
