Federal Aviation Administration Oklahoma City, Oklahoma:<BR /><p>This position is located in the Air Traffic Organization (ATO), Safety and Technical Training Service Unit, Technical Training Directorate, Air Traffic Technical Training Group (AJI-2400). This group is responsible for the administration and oversight of Air Traffic Technical Training to include identification of policies and requirements for air traffic technical training in support training in support of the National Airspace System (NAS).</p> <strong>Duties</strong> <p> <p>As Team Manager, he/she uses experience separating and controlling air traffic in a terminal or en route air traffic facility to review and evaluate technical training initiatives and coursework for currency and applicability to the operational environment. He/she is responsible for directing a geographically dispersed staff of senior air traffic controllers who evaluate and modify training initiatives and coursework. These are complex specialized assignments that are integral part of the major national program that oversees and administers the Academy training program and Field controller training requirements for the Controller Training Contract (CTC). This work is critical area of safety oversight and directly affects the safe and efficient operation of the National Airspace System (NAS).</p><p>He/she plans and communicates the Technical Training Directorate&39;s vision and objectives. Exercises supervisory responsibilities in planning, communicating the organization&39;s vision and objectives, setting priorities, assigning tasks and responsibilities; monitoring and evaluating performance; coaching and developing employee capabilities; approving leave; and taking, recommending or approving corrective/disciplinary actions. He/she applies advanced knowledge of human resource policies and procedures to plan and communicate the Directorate vision, set priorities; assign tasks and responsibilities; and to monitor and evaluate performance. Performs critical aspects of the budget planning process, including projecting short-term and long-term future needs and justifying resource requirements. Actively promotes, supports, and participates in the FAA Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Programs.</p><p>As a technical authority on air traffic control procedures, operations, and facility training programs, he/she directs the national design or maintenance redesign efforts for courses and material for the air traffic operational workforce. He/she applies advanced knowledge of FAA operational air traffic initiatives and procedures to oversee and manage collaborative training development work groups and the development and implementation of new or updated training programs and initiatives. He/she develops and integrates new technologies, risk philosophies, and relevant data into facility training efforts.</p><p>The Team Manager utilizes skill and expertise applying program/project management principles to formulate positions and to establish and oversee financial, business and planning activities to support the initiative to review and revise legacy training courses and to develop new technical courses. Defines, plans, and organizes assigned budget, staff, and other resources to accomplish objectives for more than one organization. Manages budget and either reallocates resources among the RAP panels and/or requests additional resources, as needed. Performs critical aspects of the budget planning process, including projecting short-term and long-term future needs and justifying resource requirements.</p><p>Contacts are both internal ad external to the ATO. He/she consults with representatives from academic institutions, the aviation industry and the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA). Contacts are to develop and/or revise training workshops and briefing packages based on research and operational requirements and to design, develop and integrate business approaches to maximize air traffic operations technical training.</p> </p>
