Sunglasses

I'm actually thinking about goin for the Randolph Concorde glasses. I think they go for like $70 or so which is a little bit more than my sunglasses funds will allow due to the fact that I'll probably either leave them at work or have them broken.

I'll see what my next paycheck is lookin like and decide if I still want em

I wear Oakley minutes. I have the light orange ones. They dont block hardly anylight. Good for flying, unless your looking at the sun. But even then it's not bad. I'm thinking of getting some polarized ones.

I prefer oakley because there light as hell, and I have a little peanut head and they fit me perfect.

Plus Oakleys make you HOT.

Serengeti Hurikanus (I THINK that's how it's spelled, but I'm probably wrong). I've been wearing them for over a year, and they rock the house, yo. If you can find a place that has them with the gradient lenses, get those. There's a Sunglasses Hut in the mall across the street from ORL, so they had a few in stock. They're pretty good in low light conditions, too. I accidentally left them on one day (was flying INTO the sun), and I didn't really notice that the sun had gone down a LOT. My friend flying with me asked if I was going to wear them at night. Funny thing is, I didn't even notice. They're not too bad with the headset on either.

I just use a pair of Smith sunglasses that I picked up for the outdoor sports I play. They do just fine.

Oakley A-wires here. I wouldn't wear any other brand of sunglasses out there. I have had three pair starting with the E-wire (I think) and think they are worth every penny.

A side note: I think (and someone else can confirm) Oakleys are the only other brand that are approved by the Navy other than standard issue.

I have a pair of Maui Jim's... they're great until you get them scratched!

but, If i'm correct, I think most Maui Jim's are polarized and you can't use those because of the windshield type on the planes! *from what I heard*

The money is well worth saving your eyesight from the amount of radiation you receive when flying....when it comes to eyes or any part that's needed to do your career - you want to invest....

I have a few different pairs. I like my randolphs because they fit through the headset really well. I also use a pair of arnettes and a pair of dragons. Arnette uses bausch & lomb lenses which are OK but not great. My dragons are my favorite because of the lightweight and the lenses. Dragon uses oakley lenses which are probably the best out there, and you don't look like a toolbox with those nasty oakley frames.

Oh, I used to sell sunglasses at a retail store, that's why I have so many different pairs.

for those Serengeti owners out there...

I was a happy Serengeti owner as well; I had a pair that I lost a year or so back, and purchase of a new pair is imminent .

I really like the Lassen model, but am not sure whether to go with the Drivers Gradient or the darker 555nm series:

(or)

I am not sure if the 555nm's are polarized..

any input is appreciated.

Was seeing if you'd catch the inference!

That just came to me from reading this thread. Man how we'd give him crap about that........"but I'm cool......I've got a pair of Oakleys.."

I also have Oakley A-wires, amber lenses. They're very comfortable and light, I usually forget I'm wearing them. In addition, they are thin enough to wear with my headset and not feel much different or break the ear seal.

You know, if you add a flight jacket to the sunglasses indoors, the chicks really dig that. Especially around Daytona Beach and Prescott, AZ!
