Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. Kind of sad to see the Aeroshell team without the leader in there. Maybe, hopefully, he will be able to return someday.

Didn't know anything about that until I saw your post. Did some digging... hated to hear that happened to him.

I remember spending an afternoon with my Dad and B.C. shortly after Ben retired from the team.

Anybody know who is flying lead while Alan recovers?

Don't remember his last name, but it's Brian that was with the Red Baron Pizza Squadron.

For those of us who don't have shovels to go digging, you mind briefly sharing what happened? :)

AeroShell Aerobatic Team Lead Alan Henley was injured July 22nd, the week before Oshkosh in an accident while playing with his children at his home in Birmingham, Alabama. A chin-up bar gave way while he was on it, resulting in a fall which caused severe injuries to his neck and a cut to the back of his head. Alan is now at home after spending more than three months at the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s trauma unit. He has undergone many surgeries and battled collateral infections and complications that resulted from his injury. He is paralyzed from the chest down, and will undergo extensive rehabilitation on a long journey to an uncertain recovery. Insurance has helped cover the tremendous costs of his treatment, but recently the family learned that those benefits may be soon cut off, forcing them to find other means of not only supporting Alan’s rehabilitation and medical care, but daily living expenses as well.

Wow! Very sad. Thanks for the info.

Sean Tucker's performance on Saturday was unreal, that guy is NUTS!

Props to the controllers at Sun N' Fun, they did a great job when I was there Saturday on arrival and especially on departure. First time I have ever taken off from a taxi way!
