Sullenberger

Alzheimer’s has got to be one of the worst diseases out there. My mom currently has it bad and has no idea who any of us are anymore. I’ve told my wife if I’m ever diagnosed and can’t remember to off myself to do it for me rather than live like that.

Same. My wife and I both have a "smother me with a pillow" clause in our marriage. I've seen too many elderly relatives become a burden on their families for zero quality of life to stick around for that.

Quoting myself from an earlier thread:
At 76, my father was flying a few types commercially and was as good as anybody I’ve seen. At 78, we had to take his keys and sell his car. At 80, he was dead.

If I don’t have time for a long explanation, I provide two reasons why I’m an atheist. I don’t believe a loving and omnipotent god would allow our loved ones to suffer from Alzheimer’s or humans to outlive their dogs.

Let's not forget kids with cancer.

Plus, I think they’d speak-up for themselves.

Like call in the middle of an Osteen sermon and say, “Bruh, I neeeeeeeever said that. Look outside the window, see your Maybach burning? I WANT YOU TO KNOW IT WAS MEEEEEEEE”

Many of the former PIT-based FAs at USAir would disagree with you.
Man, you just can’t help but hate can you?

Fwiw, I've flown with LUS people who flew with him. Never heard anything negative per se...perhaps a bit dry and uninteresting, but nothing like "he was a jerk" or anything like that.

I'm just reiterating what I heard from many, many people that knew him when I was at USAir. Let's just say he's NOT Tom Hanks. How that's hating, I'm not sure.

You can have your Sully. Give me Al, Bill, Dudley and Denny any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Guy announces he has Alzheimer’s (a horrible disease if you’ve ever seen a loved one go through it), someone says “that’s too bad he was a nice guy when I met him,” and your one and only comment was to say “nu uh, I heard he wasn’t nice,” and then to double down.

That’s hating brother. Nobody cares. Hate on though, you do you!
