Sullenberger on The Daily Show

Well I know its the internets and all but a bunch of pilots calling each other gay in a public forum doesn't do much to reinforce the 'professional but underpaid' image sully's trying to convey.

I like Sully.

I cringe thinking about all the potential asses who could have piloted that plane that day. I know a handful of guys who would of done aviation a great disservice getting on TV and opening their mouths.

Sully has been a good ambassador to the airline pilots.

Indeed! Fate really did choose the right pilots for that flight. I really like how Sully tries to make sure that his F/O, Jeff Skiles, gets the credit he deserves as well. He's also noninflammatory in a world of spittle flinging, hot headed soap box ideologues; he drives his points home with calm, rational reasoning, not blind appeals to emotion. We need more heroes like that.

But on the other hand, if it were ATN_Pilot the entire world would have gotten to learn how ALPA is the next coming of Jesus.

;) Just messin with you Todd

It's just unfortunate that less than a month later another pilot flew a passenger aircraft into the ground :(

Yeah, but at least right before that we had this incident and the CO 737 in Denver where death was amazingly avoided. Didn't 2 years go by with no deadly US airline crashes before Colgan?

Where is the First Officer in this whole thing? Sully's like a supastarrrr now. :rawk: But, no mentioning of the FO?
