why the 22 over the 26?

A 26 won't fit end-on in an overhead. A 22 will in almost everything except regional aircraft and older 737's.

How often will you be an airline passenger? If this is a home based job where you will travel on the airlines often, I'd agree with the LW. Ground crew will destroy anything else reasonably quickly. If you will be the only person handling your bag, save the money (and the pain of carrying the heavy LW around) and buy a normal rolling bag.
Unless you are packing for 7 days plus, a 22" is all you need.
Both will fit in the CRJ, just not end-on. Doesn't matter though since unless you are crew, you'll be stuck with a pink tag.

I pack 12 days in a 22. You figure out how to get efficient when you get tired of loading and unloading it everyday.

For corporate or fractional work I suggest this bag. It's light and durable. I never check mine when airlining so baggage handlers never touch it. It's held up well for the past 2.5 years.
