suggestions for "pilot/uniform shirts"

Hey guys, well the day has come where I'll actually have to wear something other than a T-shirt to work...

What do you guys suggest for pilot shirts? I'm a thin/fit guy, so please no baggy shirts...

Where can I grab these online?

I got mine at tally ho. They had the 18 1/2 inch neck which was also a tall size. For me it is hard to find a shirt that is long and big enough. I did notice that they had lots of other sizes and most of the middle sizes were offered in "tapered" sizes, which is what you want. That way it is more cut in at the waist, to show off the rippling 6 pack. I use the regular shirt to cover the rippling keg. :)

How are the sleeves on those 18.5's. I wear an 18.5 neck as well but the M&H short sleeves that my company offers seem like they have really big sleeves and I feel like they look stupid. I could fit another two arms into the sleeve area of my shirt. Maybe I should start lifting weights to fill them out...

this are the bests: http://www.landerwoodshirts.com/

At one point my shirt had to be light-blue, not many options out there, CREIGHTON makes some really nice shirts for the US NAVY and Coast Guard (they look just like pilot shirts), they have a nice cut. Unfortunately they don't have them white. When I was in Asia I went to a taylor with them and got them done in white for 20 dollars each, and they look just like the light blue CREIGHTONs I have.

What about this one:

Tally Ho in Miami has a complete line of pilot uniforms. I'm sure they have your size. They are prompt and efficient.

Pilotshirts.com ... Go figure:). They are a bit thicker, but I've been rocking the same tapered ones for 2 years now. They hold up well, and can take a good bleaching. Without Turning yellow like the van heusins did. Vans are like tents anyways.

Honestly, if you don't "need" bars and pockets, polo and kakhis. Keep it as relaxed as possible. Remember, you'd rather them presently supprised, than set the bar too high ( employeers and women alike)

Pound for pound, these were the best pilot shirts I could find in terms of not being a "one tent fits all" shirt.

Padded collars so they breathe. Strong stitching, and various kinds of taper so they fit your body type without piles of excess fabric like the crap the company sticks us with.

Not too pricey, either, for the quality.

I have two of these in longsleeve, and I'm ordering short sleeve soon. I may never switch brands.

I highly recommend them. I buy their tapered fit shirts. They are fitted and aren't the typical garbage bag shirts you see 95% of pilots wearing around the airport.

I have the 18.5 tall, and the sleeves fit pretty well. I do wear a t-shirt undearneath, so that might help fill the gap a little bit. I am flying atm, but I can check the brand when I take it off a little later. :) It is the standard aviator they offer I think. It has the hole in the top of the pocket and the beefed up area for the wings.

+2

Although, my tapered shirts are a little wide on me as well. I think I need to just drop down to a 16" neck though.

I'll post another vote for pilotshirts.com. I actually made a purchase today!

I do wish their "tapered" fit had a little bit less fabric at the bottom; their relaxed fit is ridiculously large. Also make sure you use their sizing chart for your neck (or test out someone else's pilotshirts.com shirt if you have a similar sized neck).
