Sudafed Part II

OK I was taken off of Sudafed and put on Flonase by my doctor. To be honest with you, I have not taken any Flonase in a few days and have not had any congestion problems. I have however been sleeping about twice as much as I had before. I was a 5-6 hour a night sleeper prior to switching medications. Immeadiately after switching I was very fatigued and sleeping 14-16 hours a day for the first 3-4 days. Now things jhave seemed to even out but I am still sleeping 8-9 hours a night.

Do you think the Sudafed I have been taking for years was really affecting my sleep patterns that much?

It certainly could. It is like being on speed all of the time. Sudafed is a good drug for the short term use. The problem is that it is systemic whereas Flonase acts locally and has no side effects except nose bleeds in some people.

Enjoy the sleep:)

Speaking of Sudafed and other "feds" like Actifed, I have a hard time finding a nasal decongestent because it gives me horrible insomnia -- the type where I'll go to sleep but my brain won't enter REM.

Any other alternatives?
