Student Xwind Limitation

Maybe I'm crazy, but I simply put "Instructor approval required before each solo flight." That way, I could discuss the weather conditions with the student and make a decision based on each flight. I think there can be a fair amount of variance in what the AWOS "reports" versus what the day is actually like.

Yep, I like it. I require an SMS or iMessage approval. That way there is a paper trail.

That's good for the first few initial solo flights, but I'm hoping you remove that restriction prior to solo x/c, and certainly before the PP checkride.
And are you constantly available for student consultation?
