Alchemy said:Oh yeah, I had many a good E. Honda vs. Chun Li matches. I think Guile was my character of choice though....gotta have that F-16 in the background.
Maximillian_Jenius said:I can start that thread but would you contribute...?

But, first I must say I'm dissappointed with your delivery...a successful, mature, professional should deliver a good measure of self-control...a trait characteristic of strong mental, moral and emotional conditioning. When your emotions break down...which can be tempting in times like these...your jugdment, common sense and decision making ability will suffer. All things a pro pilot should monitor when assessing their fitness to make sound decisions.
Now...back to your post. The pilots love their job and their airline and are willing to do what it takes to make the corp. successful. I think if you study the financials behind the proposals...you'll find that to be the truth.
Contract negotiations are tough, complicated, comprehensive and must blend two separate objectives into a workable solution. Successful negotiations should produce such a solution...and frequently do. It's how collective bargaining agreements work. The latest NFL CBA is a good recent example of how the process works.
If you don't stand up for yourself, however, you may not be successful in recovering some of your objectives.
To make a post like you did...I think demonstrates a lack of understanding of the CBA process.

TonyC said:What's your beef with the -100? Real men fly ... oops, never mind. What I mean to say is, the -100 is a sweet airplane, and a joy to fly.
daaaaaaaaaaaaamn. You just got knocked the F out.TonyC said:What's your beef with the -100? Real men fly ... oops, never mind. What I mean to say is, the -100 is a sweet airplane, and a joy to fly.
There's a way to get to the left seat of a 727, you know. It's a long road, and it'll cost more than $45,000 all in all. But if one has the determination, it can be done. You'll have to improve your Written scores, though.

Maximillian_Jenius said:Hahaha...your vernacular wit is getting better. In all actuality I have no prob with the 100 series, growing up I just didn't see many of them. On an aesthetic value I'm a size queen which is why I like the 200 series better. But then one could easily figure that one out.On a side note though yea I'd fly the hell outa a 100 series. Where can I send you my check?

Tim said:Ok here is my 2 cents worth. I have read all 8 pages but the original notwhereeverhe is obviously is either very very new to the industry or just absoutely brain dead. Sound like he has been buying in to Matsen's and Grinsteins theory of airline relativity. Sure pilots are paid well, no problem there, we all want to be. What the company forgets is that years ago they said we want our pilots to be the best paid in the industry and considered the cream of the crop. The same company now says that we can't afford you but we can pay millions to lawyers and Leo and the gang. Maybe Doug and help clarify this. I know that yes salary seems to be the big topic but isnt the turning over of the pension a very big sticking point? Hell who wants to take a 32.5% cut then have to give up another 18% not I!!! I gave my 19% and got out. The company is making the pilots the bad guys when the pilots have offered a deal and company wont budge on theirs. Someone forgot how negotations works.[/QUOT
relativity is involved, and if you look at my other post, I believe pilots are not compensated enough as it is. I, in fact, do believe that there is a good chance the corporate side could be taking advantage of the " turn down of the industry ". I'll repeat myself again by saying that there may be a place for unions....I'm merely a product of my environment and have been " brainwashed (?) " into thinking unions are "bad" for many reasons. There may be people that are " brainwashed (?)" into thinking unions are good ....for many reasons. I learn best from contradiction...no offense taken from your post..it was an informative opinion.
