Strangest Cargo

My old company had military contract and we flew some wierd stuff. Some stuff was in locked boxes and the paper work was blank just with a contact number on it. Also got to haul the Anthrax vaccine.. Also got to fly out of DCA one last time in a 310

Lets see, strange things i've hauled......

I can't remember his name, but a BIG male gorilla from MIA to SDF to be mated with a female. The only cargo flight i've ever had catered(for the handlers and us)

One dead body from San Juan to Port au Prince. That was a LONG day..... the sad part was the first body they gave us was the WRONG one

A bee hive, with the queen in a whole little box of her own.

Bull and horse semen in a blue can that looked like an atom bomb.

7000lbs of colored baby chicks for easter, back in the glory days of Postal flying(remember that looking4lower?)

A video tape..... that's it, just a video tape

4000lbs of blue lav water to Nassau

Metallica's band equippment

Neil Young's band equippment

Concrete blocks

1500lbs of snow shovels..... in July

13,000lbs of John Madden's NFL 2004 for X-box and PS2

A kilo of Coke...... didn't know about that one until after it had been on two other airplanes after mine.

Just another day in the life of a freight dog.

Used to fly bodies for the Office of the Medical Investigator and the funeral homes in a 206....

Kinda creepy to hear the body gurgle in the back seat when climbing to cruise alt...

We carry about 3 planeloads full of Vicky's wear/week to the US. About 200k lbs a pop. Hard to imagine how much stuff that is! I've seen about everything from cattle and horses, monkeys and dogs to race cars and helo's to asparagus to cut flowers.

most of the cool stuff I've carried is classified, but some other stuff:
-15 pallets of bubblewrap
-2 OH-53's along with all of their support equipment
-Secret service commuinications vehicle
-A 10 hr air evac flight for 1 marine that got drunk and punched a glass door, sliced his hand and arm up so bad it had to be amputated, several doctors, the surgeon that operated on the marine in flight, and a couple ORFs.
-Mark-5 boats.
-C-130 props

I was hired to take a women's purse from ORL to Key West at 5:30 sunday morning once.

NO I did not look in the purse - I didn't want to know!

Well as I am not a pilot I will relay a few odd ones I have heard form my uncle:
1. A small box of parts form OKC to Detroit so Ford could get the assembly line open again.
2. A box of baby chickens from JNU up here to HNS.

I will ask and see if he has anymore.

That's very common. Auto parts make up a very large portion of our flying. I went down to CHS a couple weeks ago, picked up a skid with two little shoebox-sized boxes on it, and took it to Detroit. Must have been important, albeit small.
