Strange: GoJets

Nah, because wouldn't then, in fact, the company be motivated to create a GoJets-II to keep costs mega low, which is why they formed GoJets-I -- unless I'm heavily mistaken.
 
Don't even get me started on that place. I read up on GoJets and didn't like them to begin with. Then I had the pleasure of sharing a few cocktails with a TSA crew and I was even more turned off by the place by the end of the night.
 
The other side of things is that the teamsters were willing to represent a pilot group which was created with the sole purpose of undercutting another pilot group. I never really was a big fan of the teamsters and this has certainly not raised my opinion of them.

It will be interesting to see if Transtates Holdings (Parent of TSA and GoJets) abuses the GJs contract as much as the TSA contract. Uncle Hula is known for screwing his workforce whenever possible, union or not.

And one other thing... those of us out there that feel the need to say rude things on the radio everytime we hear Gateway check on (GoJets) please be carful as USA3000 pilots are getting slammed left and right when they check on as Getaway. (yes, I flew with a really annoying captain last month)

Here is an even bigger question. Why would the pilots of GOJETS even want union representation? They knew that when applying to GoJets that the point of said operation was to under cut cost have low pay and horrible work rules/QOL.

Thats tantamount to applying at a known "sweatshop" then complaining about the pay and work rules and wanting to start a union to prevent worker abuse and get industry leading pay. Kinda backwards..don't ya think?

What they should do is try to merge GOJETS back in with TSA. And that Sanjay Patel should be fired for liking small goats...:D

They didn't. From my understanding, it was the management pilots that voted in the union, before there were line pilots on property.

People bash mesa, but they were able to keep Freedom under control. With their contract up for renewel soon, I hope they can pull together and kick JO in the b@lls...

Holy crap you're right...the pilots must've just ratified their selection. I wonder if, now that they have a union, they won't be treated like crap? Interesting!
 
Usually when you finally get a union, the company turns the heat up from '8' to about '15' to dissuade the other employee groups from organizing.
 
Being a new guy, lets see if I am keeping pace here. I have so far gathered the following:

1. Gulfstream is the Devil
2. If you ever work for GoJets, you are a pile of **** and will be blacklisted for life.
3. The aviation industry sucks ass, yet everyone here is either in it or pursuing it.
4. See observations one and two.

Am I following?

What else do I need to know?

I think this is true. One management pilot from TSA moved to GoJets and filed with the National Mediation Board to be represented by Teamsters. They hired, went through the NMB process and are finally officially union. My understanding is that the whole thing was set up primarily to keep ALPA or a strong local union off the property.

I could be wrong, it's happened before.

This is an old Teamsters tactic. No pilot group would intentionally vote for them. UPS did exactly the same thing when they started their flight operation and it didn't take long for the pilots to get organized and replace them.

I think you're figuring it out :)

It's why some of us so called Pros have left it as a profession and gone back to hobby flying.

What is the deal with the Teamsters. I don't know much about them but they seem to be farily well disliked by a large percentage of the aviation world. I am interviewing with Horizon on March 6th and I understand they are represented by the teamsters.
