Ok well assuming the A/C wasn't there, there was still a big INOP sticker on the 'climate control' panel, so maybe the heater was INOP, I don't know, don't care either as long as I'm nowhere near it.

Since you seem to have a knack for defending Pan Am, how do you explane your instructor crashing a Seminole while in IFR conditions below the MDA? hum?

I agree, in somewhat poor taste..

Pilots make incorrect judgements all the time and unfortunately it results in what happened to the student and instructor at Pan Am, two dead and one injured, its not mutually exclusive that academy and it's reference was in poor judgement..

Ooh, ouch.

One of the most dangerous things that we can do in this profession is 'monday morning quarterback' accidents without supportive data.

Planes crash because (a) the pilot lost control or (b) the airplane hit the ground too hard -- both for a variety of reasons.

I can't think of any training organization that teaches descent below MDA, but I do know a lot of pilots that think descending below MDA is 'ok' (albeit stupid, illegal and dangerous) in certain circumstances.

I'm not defending Pan Am, but I think the accident had more to do with judgement than it did training.

I worked at FSA in the marketing department for a few months and I can tell you that we had more tours and inquiries from "un-happy, screwed over" Pan-Am students than any other school. Heck, they usually flew your own airplanes up for the tour.

Rarely, is a student so unhappy at FSA that they will leave. FSA goes far above and beyond the call of duty to help the students and to make sure their experience is positive. From the marketing department, to financial aid, through the ground schools, all the way to the flight line, FSA shows the students they care about their success. I know of only one student who left and she FAILED everything. FSA worked with her over and over again, and she still failed the prog checks and check rides. When a student has that much trouble with an instructor, FSA will put the student with one of our top "high time", FAA certified DE check airmen. If they can't get through to them, then more than likely no one can. Last I heard, she ended up at Worstwind in Phoenix. I am sure she failed there too.

ClrAir....Go home to your wonderful school. You are not going to talk any prospective FSA students into switching to Pan-Scam....ILS

don't judge that cfi 's qualifications,

he was a special ops medic/pilot and served in somalia, he was part of the story blackhawk down and he was also a friend of mine, so keep talkin
 
Clrair, I wasn't talking about that post..I was referring to the post that was deleted..where you referred to another member as a "hoser"...get a clue..
