Stab trim setting?

Many large aircraft have movable horizontal stabilizers. The horizontal stabilizer is used to trim the aircraft about its lateral axis (instead of elevator trim).

In a Cessna 150 you'll set the elevator trim in the takeoff range before takeoff.

In a jet you'll set the stabilizer trim properly in the same manner. Due to the wide range of weight and loading options in a jet...the fluctuations in stabilizer trim can be significant. Stab trim will be calculated per the CG before takeoff.
 
In the CRJ our trim settings range from about 5.0-8.0 It is adjustable in incremnets of .2 Typically, since we are almost always nose heavy, the stab setting would be about 7.6 or so. With different stab settings, the yoke pressures should feel the same for every takeoff
