Position Description:

This position will be responsible for operation of a Beechcraft 1900D commuter aircraft. The position also oversees the maintenance and safety of the aircraft, hangar and runways. The Sr. Flight Manager’s objective is to ensure that all flight activities are conducted according to established company Policies and Procedures, that Standard Operating Procedures are observed and that all flight operations are conducted to the highest standards resulting in safe, secure and effective air transportation.
Principal Accountabilities:
Airplane:
- Coordinate safe and efficient flight operations.
- Coordinate routine and major maintenance with management and mine management to ensure aircraft remains in an airworthy condition with maximum availability.
- Assist maintenance tracking with maintenance personnel by updating aircraft total time in maintenance tracking software and forecasting utilization.
- Order parts as needed from approved vendors and monitor parts inventory.
- Coordinate the calibration of company tools and test equipment on an annual basis.
- De-ice the plane as required, maintain sufficient de-icing fluid quantities and ensure serviceability of company de-icing equipment.
- File flight plans and maintain flight scheduling software to reflect aircraft schedule.
- Coordinate all required maintenance on hangar facility and equipment including snow removal at the hangar parking lot and ramp as required to meet flight schedule.
- Manage fuel farm maintenance and fuel supply for two airport locations to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Review vendor invoices for accuracy and facilitate payment for these invoices.
- Manage contract for AWOS.
- Coordinate with the FAA during periodic procedure maintenance and periodic approach obstacle verification for RNAV (GPS) approaches to company airfield.
- Manage maintenance of runways.
- Fly and operate the drone at the mine site.
- Ensure the aircraft and hanger facility is clean and maintain sufficient hangar and aircraft stocking levels.
- Ensure strict adherence to company FOM and compliance with all applicable CFR’s.
- Pilot scheduling and approval of pilot time cards.
- Oversight of all aspects of flight crew training, both ground and flight, and ensures compliance with all applicable FAR’s and company FOM.
- Mentor pilots for leadership roles.
- Performs other duties as assigned, not to interfere with crew duties and required rest.
