Sprint--cell phone

LG phones own all!

Sanyo.

Hey Tom I just got back from Office Max...didn't see you working there. I was making my own approach plate binder thingy from scratch, don't wanna get raped at UND or Flight Support for their $15-18 POS haha. Mine cost $2...(used CopyMax's vinyl covers and leaf rings).

Lol, I've been home since July about the middle of July. Yeah, copymax is very reasonable for most things oddly enough. I bought one of those brown pleather ones from sporty's that looks like something someone's grandpa would give them. It was barely thick enough though. If you haven't already, get one thats more than an inch thick.

Are you using Jepp or the ASA ones? After using both, I cant stress how much better jepp is. Definitly worth the money. ASA enroute charts are better, but you can interchange the two. It's probably a good idea to try both though in different courses.

You mean the NOS charts? I'm using those. I think I'm gonna order a Jeppesen subscription for apporach charts though - I like them much better.

Anything government means HORRIBLE graphic design. Hence the ugly NOS plate design and crappy newspaper printing. Jep's are so much easier to read and understand. Jeppesen pioneered the Briefing Strip™ and of course NACO had to copy them with something similar but still not good enough in order to avoid intellectual property infringement.

Yeah, you know what I mean. I knew it was some three letter thing. :)

I dont know why Jepps enroute charts are the way they are. NOS is SO much nicer. Not the toilet paper material like Jepp has. However there's no question that Jepp makes the better approach chart.

Speacking of approach charts, has anyone found a yoke clip that holds the chart in such a way as to be able to read them at night? They need to sit facing directly towards you, not straight out. That makes them impossible to read with the turqoise light. That could be just a Jepp thing because I had a hell of a time reading those in 222. Never really did an approach at night with the NOS charts in 325, that and I didn't use a yoke clip at all. I just used my knee bored.

Most yoke clips do not work well with the Warrior III's because of the yoke design (the center off the yoke is too high from the yoke shaft so if forces the approach plate paper upward)...and if you build the clip any higher it will completely block the heading indicator view...not good for holding procedures. I actually LOST my yoke clip with timer holder because I was stupid and left it strapped to a Warrior during 222. Someone else has my nice homemade yoke clip and stopwatch. But soon I will go back to Lowe's to make my own metal $2 yoke clip again so I don't have to pay $30 for the plastic one that works half-ass at Sporty's (I'm cheap like that...I'm all about DIY).

Tom get to bed.

If you are lucky enough, you will get a Warrior that doesn't have the crappy little yoke clip broken off! Some of them still have them I think -- but not many!

I couldn't sleep at all! :)

That metal one they sell out at the airport would work fine if it were angled down a little. I doesn't need to be much. I bent mine into a position that worked great, but it would get all loose and flop all over the place when I moved the yoke. Since I have my own tools up here finally I could cut it to make it work I bet.

I've seen maybe two, but those clips position the chart so that it rubs against your legs. I'm a picky bastard. If it's the ones I think they are.

My yoke clip was made for a Cessna 172/152. It works well in a Cessna...but not a Warrior.

Verizon is by far simply the best provider ever. But their service though excellent is expensive (so I hear). That being said I have Sprint. I would seriously consider changing to Verizon, but almost everyone I know here in PHX has Sprint so I rarely use my minutes (800 monthly unlimited text messages) and mostly use my mobile to moble minutes more.
