split time?

Hi,
In the skymates cost outline for the professional course, there is hour building at split time. It's basically half price of hourly.

What is split time? And as a student, since its cheaper, how easy is it to get?

Split time is what you do when you go up with another student and the two of you split the cost of the flight. Both of you take full credit for the flight hours.

This is typically done for Commercial cross countries and Multi-Engine time building. When you get to those points Skymates can hook you up with a partner or if you know someone the two of you can just schedule some flights together.

Does that mean that one of the pilots has to be under the hood? Or is there some other trick that I'm not aware of.

Yes, one wears a hood, the other acts as Safety Pilot. Both can log as PIC.
