Flew down to KORF on saturday and made my way over to
Oceana NAS for the airshow. AWesome time....but delta had a 767 on display painted in the spirit of delta livery. the captain was in the cockpit giving tours of the equipment. awesome show. people were asking dumb questions, and i had to bite my tounge. but i guess he was used to it. I asked him if he still flew the line and he said he did and that he did this on his days off for fun. anyone ever seen this jet? pretty wild view from the flight deck down.

I've seen it in salt lake city, really pretty plane /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm sure it's on airliners.net.. fact it is..

pic of the delta

It's cool delta does that, I wish the other legacy airlines would do that.

Actually, Delta didn't purchase it, the employees did a decade ago thus the "Spirit of Delta"

yeah, got a great pic in the right seat...and some of the outside...pretty cool...so, doug is that your plane?

That retro paint job looks great. Glad to hear they are still out doing some promotions at airshows.

Which piece of it do you own, Doug? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Mike - Thought of you the other day...I attended an Aviation Fesitval at Daniel Webster College this past weekend. There were two A-10s from Westford, MA. (As seen in my avatar.) I'll post some pictures from it. They are amazing aircraft. And I was fortunate enough to talk to one of the pilots after he came back in.

Let me correct that...WESTOVER, MA.

Thanks to Nick for that correction.

Third correction.........Westfield (Barnes Airport), Massachusetts. That's where the 104th Fighter Wing is based. About 10 miles east of there is Westover Air Reserve Base, home of the C-5 equipped 439th Military Airlift Wing.

Who was the pilot from Barnes? I probably know him.

The dude. Or dude-a-rino if you're into the whole colloqialism thing...

Hey, I went to that aviation festival too at DWC. I posted a story about the C-130H that was at that show in the military forum. Great avatar picture. I got a couple of shots of the A-10's as well but I really like the one you have of the crew member on the wing of the C130.

Mike - If I recall one of their names was SGA Ryan Rose. A few photos of the A-10s at the festival can be found at A-10s at KASH.

I'll have more up soon. But I must say, after seeing all those war planes (B-17, B-25, T-6, Corsair, etc..) I have a MUCH greater respect for the military and I was proud be an American.

L1011fan - Which day were you there? I was there Saturday. Thanks. But I like YOUR avatar! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
