Spirit Hiring

You can't just make a union contract go away. I believe the two groups from their respective airlines will have to vote whether to be organized or not. It's probably addressed in Spirit's CBA as to how to proceed.
Ah, that makes sense. I’m guessing the biggest hurdle will be about location.

I'm shooting for one of the next classes, I missed out this time around. The merger does make me nervous, but it seems like the general feeling based on comments here is that they don't expect to close shop in FL and send everyone to NY?

That's what I was told by the hiring manager, yes. But obviously it's subject to change. I doubt they will though, and JetBlue has definitely expressed interest in keeping the Dania Beach facility once it's completed.

Update for everyone here:

The new-new class is having resumes looked through and preparing for interviews right now. They are planning for that to be a class of 10 (the current November class of which I am a part of is on its second week of classroom training and there are 8 of us total) and are aiming for a February start date.

It seems like this upcoming February class will be the last large class for a while so good luck to all who apply!
