Spirit Hiring

Current NK employee here.

As with all companies there are positives and negatives. We moved into a brand new OCC today which is designed to carry us through at least the next 5-10 years for staffing. This brings brand new computers with 3 monitor setups for dispatch, and 4 monitor setups for our ATC and shift coordinators. Pay is competitive with a 15 year top of scale and a scale that ranged from about 45k to about 90k without taking into account an override for coordinator positions. Schedule is 4/4, 10 hours. OT is 1.5 for first two days off worked, then double time. There is the potential to make a lot of money, even considering the location, and we're always looking for people who will pick up the OT.

If anyone has any specific questions, feel free to PM me.

this was the last time i read about spirit payscale, if it helps

Anyone know anything as far as benefits that are offered there(e.g. health benefits, non rev, discounts on rental cars, cruises)?

Also, what type of dispatching software do they use?

My post referenced by stunnershow is up to date.

We are using Sabre FPM as our flight planning software, as well as the Sabre Movement Control Suite, and Flight Explorer.

RE: benefits. We have the option of a high deductible HSA or an HRA. It depends on your circumstances which works best for you. Non-rev is handled through id90 and we do get discounts on hotels/car rentals/cruises through ticketsatwork. Of course, jumpseating is always an option.

Any other questions, feel free to ask!

I've been told by a current coordinator that its nearly impossible to make $50k first year. Their contract is strong. GL for who apply, heard it was only two positions about 2 months ago could be more though.

I'm NK as well. Looks like we are approved for at least five more dispatch positions (likely to be higher). As I'm sure UA and B6 found out, using the FPM software slows the process of flight planning down quite a bit so dispatchers can't realistically do as many releases as with DM. Our normal average has been 40-45 but 25-30 releases per 10 hour shift is more reasonable. The pay scale is correct and our contract becomes amenable in 2017. Pay stays relatively flat for the first 5 years but then starts to increase more steeply in years 6-15.

All shifts ten hours, morning averages 35; evening 26; swings 35; midnight 30 with FPM. Down from 37/29/37/33

Eight hour shifts, morning is averaging 24; evening 12; midnight 17. Recently on Mids I had 22. Although that was the first time I worked a Mid since domestic was given the Mexico flying from the South America desks. So I think 17 might not be the new average like it was before on Mids.
