Not once, but twice.
End result. Very few airlines went outbid business (compass, xjet types). Most 121 major airline pilots still did well. Paid to stay home.
And now that Spirit might go under from years of mismanagement and bad luck with PW engines, let’s get the govt to bail out in the tune of half a billion of tax payer money.
I just hope I don’t ever hear from another ALPA pilot again about “the big ME3”

As much as I feel for the Spirit peeps, I just can’t feel good about the US Taxpayer shipping over 500 million for the Spirit Management team to light on fire.
On the other hand, it’s still a better use of tax payer dollars then giving it to Daddy Raytheon to blow up brown people across the globe.

Of course it will. problem is, the Biden admin made a public stance against big mergers.
So what. 85% of the country is ruled by AA, DL, UA, and SW. spirit and JetBlue is inside that remaining 15%. Ridiculous to turn that merger down.
