A passing storm set off the foam deluge system in the DTW Spirit hangar, just in time for the 4th…

that could be expensive depending on how open the aircraft inside the hangar were. I’ll let our resident fire expert comment on the system, but my impression is that its kind of corrosive for electrical connections

back in my line boy days in college, a very large pharma company on the field had this happen on a holiday weekend. they always left the doors open on all their jets and helos inside and had a hell of a time cleaning and returning everything to service
 
I’m curious how the passing storm set off the suppression system. Usually they have backup fire pumps that will kick on during a power interruption, if the plumbing was configured incorrectly it would start pumping as soon as the engines fired up. I don’t miss doing monthly tests of those things.
