Spirit and Gojet...........

"A path to exceptional pay" lol
Just saw an ALPA post that Spirit pay is 40% below other airbus operators

@Box hauler probably because their ticket fair is that much lower as well.
Honestly I'm not really sure what the company net profit is, but from what I understand they could afford to pay their pilots more.

Good guess but that really isn't it, that's what they want you to believe. The real reason Spirit is paid 40% lower is because the current contract is 7 years old. As soon as the contract is signed it's going to be a nice place to be. I'm not saying this includes you but I face palm when people bring up those numbers as if it's going to stay that way. The profits at Spirit are huge so they can afford to pay people correctly and they know it, they're just dragging their feet to try and collect a sweet performance bonus. Also I hear the new mediator is a real ball buster and will make sure both the company and the union are coming to the table with realistic offers from here on out. The only reason we started a flow with Gojet is so they can delay the contract as long as they can.

Fun fact: When Spirit signed their contract in 2010 they were well above US Airways in pay and QOL. ( so I'm told anyways )

That's not really anything to brag about, considering what Airways had been through and the circumstances that lead to that contract being current in 2010.

Here's to hoping Spirit stops dragging their ass and delivers a contract that the pilot group deserves...

It wasn't just Airways; it was the comparable group that they used. They included Airways as the only legacy because it suit their purposes and the other legacies still had bankruptcy contracts so they were not much ahead anyway.

It's time for a very big raise. i lost out on two year's of it, but that's life. I had a very nice 121 career. Now on to new aviation adventures!

Didn't the CEO also say something along low tier pilots get low tier pay?

Hopefully a good contract comes out of mediation though!

It's something. It may not be the best but it is better than nothing which incidentally, is what most of us have as far as a defined career path.
