Special Issuance Removal

Just a quick AASI question. Once you have applied for and approved for a AASI, is there ever a point at which the AASI can be removed?

I had testicular cancer (Seminoma Classic) in Aug. '08. The testical was removed and the tumor was intact, therefore no other treatment was required. I have a surveillance CT and Bloodwork every 3 mo (the FAA only requires annually) and all is looking good. Is there ever a point that I will be able to have this AASI removed? Or is it stuck with me for life?
