Speaking of no APU's (To Seggy)

A lot of departments are switching to lidar. (light interigator blah blah blah, could be way off on that, but it uses light). Radar detectors are worthless to these, its a focused beam so when your detector picks it up, its too late. You're screwed. If I remember right airborne weather radar and police radio based radar both can operate on the x-band frequencies.

Pretty much there's only one radar detector worth anything and that's the valentine one. 300 bucks for that guy. It tells you direction and how many signals its picking up. Which is ideal for using intown. Most of the time in town you're only picking up the radar from automatic doors from the stores and whatnot you're driving by.

Seemed pretty obvious, but maybe it's because I speed and own a radar detector.

Bog's got a "Valentine One".

I know ALL your business, yo!

Does aircraft radar really operate on the same band(s) as police radar? What about ground based weather radar? Does that set off radar detectors?
Weather radar and police/traffic radar both use X-band frequencies, which radar detectors are designed to detect.

Dang, and all that time I thought Criter was the one peeping through my windows at night.

Sorry guys it's a bad habbit I got into a while back.

I watched waaaay too many F1 (and F3000, and touring car etc.) races for a few years. Oh yeah and its colour too.

I always liked it spelled the weird way. How about the shopping centre.

When I worked at Emery Air here in Rockford we did a hot fuel on them. They left the # 2 engine running the whole time. I'm just glad my supervisor didn't get sucked in the engine, the fuel panel isn't that far from it.

Oldtownpilot, I sent you a PM
