Southwest Hiring

I heard the same thing from one of their senior captains I flew with yesterday. He suggested I apply. I said I wanted to finish my current IOE this weekend! ;)

Don't waste the Resume scanner's time. Plus I'm sure you've seen the handful of people who have made the cut (Not particularly at SWA) with below minimum qualifications.
Absolutely I have! Regionals, supplemental carriers, 135s...knock yourself out.

I'm bummed out. I didn't apply right away, and missed out. I didn't think it would close out in two days (tried to apply on Wednesday, posted the announcement on Monday). Ahh well, I too have no real world experience.

There are times that airlines will close a listing within hours. Once a listing goes live, I'd advise applying immediately. If you really want in somewhere, have everything ready to go and check the company websites daily. If word is that they will be hiring in the immediate future, check that site multiple times a day. People are pretty good about letting us know here but you definitely can't and shouldn't rely on that. Also, some airlines are set up to allow you to build a profile which stores your info and current resume, so that applying becomes that much quicker and easier. Good luck next round :-)

Sorry you missed out flygirl. The last couple of listings from WN have been different because of how long they were up. Prior to that, it was typical that a Southwest dispatcher posting would open for four hours and snap shut. If you weren't Johnny On The Spot you lost out. Moral of the story, if you want in at WN be sure to have everything ready to go and have WN on your bookmarks! I don't know if we are done yet, but I'm guessing maybe one more class depending.
