Southwest APU Fire KSNA

Commuted home from SNA last night, must've just missed this. My captain was heading home on SWA to PHX and after the crazy trip we'd just finished I figured he would've been on this plane. Glad everyone is ok.

Oh and this a big reason why I dislike not getting paid until push.

Always one slide that doesn't deploy right. Good job putting the fire out (airplane?) and getting out.

I can imagine the cabin on a Southwest flight at the gate that starts to fill with smoke from an APU issue, thinking about how I'd react as a passenger gives me anxious feels. Stuck in a tube with no way out except over or through my fellow travelers. My claustrophobia seems to worsen as I age.

No it's definitely a rational fear. It was like a million years ago but...

Showed us how a ground evac can be just as dangerous of a situation.
