Thanks,

SWA Flight Ops

I got this email today. I don't know if it's open to everyone or not. I don't see why it wouldn't be. The mentor program was developed to help pilots who don't meet minimums. I'd figure it would be good for networking for you guys who live in the area.

I signed up for the mentor program at a Southwest openhouse they had here in Dallas about a month ago. They didn't go into great detail about the program. Like I said in the earlier post, it's for pilots who don't meet the mins yet. I think that they pair you up with someone to mentor you on how to become part of the "Southwest family". I haven't been paired with anyone yet. I guess that will happen at the next event that they have in the DFW. You can always use that email address and ask. Thats about all I know.:) I have a long way to go to get to a position to even try to get hired at southwest.

I did this back when I still worked for them. Kelvin's right. It's sort of a way to introduce people to the SWA culture and help interested people get an "in." It's kinda like a trial dating period before the marriage. They can check you out without the stress of an interview environment, and you can check them out without having to try to impress everyone. Now that I'm actually flying 121, I'm thinking about trying to get back into it.

Also, how far is this hotel from Phoenix Sky Harbor? I have off that day, and really would like to go! I'm ready to spring for a hotel, rental car, etc.. I wonder if they have any in Chicago?

Sound like you'd never want to work for this airline!!!!

It's probably about 20 miles or so. I think my house is about 18 miles N. of KPHX and the Marriott is about 2 or 3 miles west of here.

Nice hotel! Tres cher cocktails though!

Doug maybe you should check it out and give us a report on it. I know you arent that busy with Delta and other projects.....

I'll be making the drive down from Flagstaff for this. PM me if anyone would like to meet up for this.
