Southwest: Airline passenger refuses to hang up cell phone d

Re: Southwest: Airline passenger refuses to hang up cell pho

How drunk was he?

He wasn't. Where did you get that idea?

"Folks, the idiot in 4C refuses to stop jabbering important information on his cell phone. Its obviously more important than you all getting to Dallas so we will have to wait here on the tarmac until he is finished"

If I were speaking to ICU doctors, trying to decide whether or not to give the doctor a dnr (do not resuscitate) order for my father, yeah, it would be a hell of a lot more important to me than not delaying someones flight to Dallas.

Of course I would never condone violating an FAA or FCC law or regulation.

Kind of getting the impression that he failed to mention that part to the flight crews and they just thought he was being a jack@$$ passenger with his "Kiss my @$$, not happening" response.

Know what I say crews do? Enlist the other passenger's help in convincing these types of individuals to hang up the phone.

Get on the PA and say, ladies and gentlemen, because we have an individual who will not turn off his phone, we'll have to remain on the runway instead of taxiing to the gate. We appreciate your patience with this. Thank you.

Somehow, I have a feeling he would be off his phone real quick.

If not, and the phone somehow gets shoved up his ass, who'd have thunk it?

Isn't peer pressure GREAT!!:D

Re: Southwest: Airline passenger refuses to hang up cell pho

This is why I would rather fly freight.

Re: Southwest: Airline passenger refuses to hang up cell pho

CNN just reported the phone call was a life or death situation. His father's heart stopped beating. He was on the phone with a cardiac center.

Baloney. If that were true, he would have said "my father is dying" rather than "kiss my a**, not happening"

Re: Southwest: Airline passenger refuses to hang up cell pho

I was on a flight to MSY and this idiot kid kept texting on his phone right after the FA said not to and he just hid the phone under a blanket and proceeded. Some kids are so dumb.

:yeahthat:

Personally, I think that if I were that father, I'd rather die than realize I raised such an assinine son of a bitch.

If you can't give up your cell phone because you might need to take an emergency call, don't fly.

The rules are that your phone is to be off. If something might arise which requires you to be on the phone, don't get on the plane.

And if his story is true, why did the cops detain him?

Re: Southwest: Airline passenger refuses to hang up cell pho

still sounds like he was on the phone in the air. how'd he manage to get a signal let alone carry on a conversation for 20 mins?

Re: Southwest: Airline passenger refuses to hang up cell pho

If anyone wants to send Joe Jones, the disorderly passenger, an email, it's not hard to figure out what it is by going to his company's website. :D ... www.skyonic.com

Re: Southwest: Airline passenger refuses to hang up cell pho

A couple months ago I heard about an AA passenger that got arrested for masterbating on a flight. Jay Leno said he wasn't sure if he was going to hire a lawyer or "handle it himself" :laff:

Re: Southwest: Airline passenger refuses to hang up cell pho

Hopefully with fares on the upswing to a level where they should be, that in itself will filter out alot of the human garbage that has been able to afford to fly over the past few years, and these sorry excuses for people will be where they belong.......on Greyhound.

:yeahthat:......... LMAO :laff: :laff: :laff: :yup:

.

Truer words have never been spoken. The same goes for class too. I've seen my fair share of classless wealthy people....just like the lower end of the scale.

Re: Southwest: Airline passenger refuses to hang up cell pho

Amen to that. Money doesn't always equal class/good manners!

Re: Southwest: Airline passenger refuses to hang up cell pho

My personal experience is that most people who are big time aren't bungholes about it.

The wannabes are the ones who are.

Generally speaking, the truly wealthy old money people know how to behave. They were raised that way.

It's the merely affluent who think the world revolves around them.

It's always amusing to me to watch someone who's not all that wealthy making a big stink about something while someone who's really got some coin is so nonchalant and calm.

Re: Southwest: Airline passenger refuses to hang up cell pho

For the most part, you are correct, Tony. HOWEVER, I've occasionally run into some "old money" who treat others (especially those in the service industry) as their indentured servants. What can you do? People are people...you have to take the good with the bad. I don't take it too personally, I get pissed for a couple of minute and move on!

Re: Southwest: Airline passenger refuses to hang up cell pho

who knows with the press, but reading the article it seems he was using it during the flight. I am surprised he was able to get reception.

yeah, sometimes itll work, depending on altitude. I love it when you are in a busy terminal environment, getting vectored onto final and your pocket starts vibrating....oops! Accidents happen I guess.
